Fabio Di Giannantonio led a Ducati sweep of the top five places on the grid. Earning his first podium in MotoGP, Di Giannantonio will line up next to the Ducatis of Marco Bezzecchi and Luca Marini. Championship points leader Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) was the quickest non-Ducati, and he will line up in the sixth spot tomorrow (the outside of row 2).
Marc Marquez had a heavy crash during Q2, and later held a press conference announcing that he would receive a fourth surgery on his right arm next Tuesday at the Mayo Clinic in the United States. Marquez will race tomorrow, but may miss the entire remainder of the 2022 series.
