As Quartararo cruised to the win, the battle for the podium ended with Alex Rins (Suzuki) finishing second and Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) taking the first MotoGP podium for the brand in third position.
Marc Marquez (Honda) low-sided on the first lap, and took out rookie Jorge Martin. Both riders were uninjured.
It was a bad day for the riders closest to Quartararo in the championship, and he leaves Silverstone with a healthy 65 point cushion over Joan Mir (Suzuki), who could only manage ninth place today.
